Last night in Mons, nearly 120 video game developers and enthusiasts gathered for the second edition of the Game Dev Cafe eXtendedan event that highlighted the importance of marketing in the video game industry. Organized by WALGA and supported by ERDFthe Walloon Region and Digital WalloniaThe evening brought together top-quality speakers and exhibitors, creating an opportunity for exchange and sharing on themes of vital importance to video game creators.
Inspiring talks and renowned experts The audience was treated to captivating presentations by Sophie Augurelle from Wallimage, William Bertin from Plug In Digital/Dear Villagersand Sophie Schiaratura from Maracas Studiowho shared their expertise on marketing in the video game industry. These discussions highlighted the challenges and opportunities associated with promoting video games, offering participants valuable advice on how to increase the visibility of their projects.
A showcase for independent video games Alongside the talks, nine independent video games were exhibited in the Agora, allowing participants to discover innovative local creations. Studios present included Fishing Cactus, Flip It Games, Moons of Ardan, Orbit Owl Games, 50 Rats Games, Clever Trickster, Maracas Studio, Black Tears Studioand Plane Toast. These developers had the opportunity to present their work and receive live feedback, in a friendly and stimulating atmosphere.
Next steps for developers For those who want to deepen their marketing skills, the CLICK is offering several workshops specialized in the art of pitching throughout October and November. These courses offer developers the opportunity to perfect their communication skills and enhance the impact of their project presentations.
