KISS GAME JAM : Registration

After its first success, the KISS launches its volume 2! A new edition... "Born To be Wild". 🎸🎶

As a reminder, the #KISS is an event that brings together groups of students and professionals to develop a video game in 48 hours. This year's Game Jam will be held on January 26 - 27 - 28, 2024.

Grab your PC and get ready to code your team, because registration opens on Wednesday, December 6 at 12:30 p.m. !


Important information

To validate your participation, you must register IN A TEAM.

But be careful, EVERY TEAM MEMBER MUST REGISTER!

  • Registration is free but compulsory.
  • The event is face-to-face and in BYOS (Bring your own set-up) format!
  • You'll be able to sleep on site, and you won't go hungry or thirsty!
  • Registration does NOT mean participation. You will receive a confirmation of your registration.
    120 places are available, and the rule is: first come, first served! With the following quota: 80 HEAJ students, 20 students from other schools and 20 professionals. 

For more information, or if you're looking for partners to form your team, don't hesitate to join the KISS Discord: https://discord.gg/PF98e7WqpE. Teams should be made up of 4 to 6 people with a variety of complementary skills. Here are a few examples of the skills you'll need to form your Dream Team: 

  1. Game Design You'll need: creativity, some knowledge of gameplay, game mechanics, storytelling and level design.
  2. Scripting/Programming Programming skills, using tools such as Unity or Unreal Engine and mastering programming languages such as C#, C++ or Python. Ability to manage interactions between game elements.
  3. Art The ability to design characters, environments, user interfaces and visual elements for games.
  4. Animation The ability to animate the visual elements present in the game.
  5. Creativity Our ability to generate new ideas and develop them rapidly for implementation.
  6. Sound Design The ability to create a sound atmosphere within the game
  7. Teamwork The ability to work as part of a team to achieve common goals within a limited timeframe, the ability to adapt quickly to a constantly changing development environment and to make decisions quickly when necessary, the ability to communicate effectively with other team members to coordinate tasks and efforts.

Registration implies a moral commitment to complete the entire process, and to behave with dignity, respecting others and the premises made available to you. What's more, the KISS Game Jam is designed to be warm and caring. Although there's a prize at stake, this Jam is not intended to be competitive, but to encourage mutual aid, sharing and collaboration!
