Knowing how to pitch a project to a publisher or an investor is no easy task! That's why it's vital to ensure that your pitch deck is complete and solid before a professional meeting. That's why we offered our Gamescom members a workshop dedicated to this expertise, in the company of an industry expert.
This Saturday, July 13, a dozen studios gathered at our Namur offices to present their pitch deck to Mea NilimaaSenior Business Development Manager at Kokku. Mea has over 15 years' experience in the video game industry, with roles at Raw Fury, Electronic Arts, Paradox Interactive and Avalanche Studios. Currently Head of Business Development at Kokku, Mea specializes in business development, strategic partnerships and project management. She is passionate about helping game developers navigate the industry and achieve their business goals.
The day's program was as follows:
- 10am - 11am: Presentation "10 tips and mistakes to avoid in a Pitch Deck". with Jean Gréban, WALGA Coordinator
- 11am - 12pm: Studio pitch sessions, 5 minutes per project
- 12pm - 2pm: Lunch
- 2pm - 5pm: 1:1 coachings (20 minutes per studio) with Mea Nilimaa. During the individual meetings, the other participants engaged in a studio VS publisher role-play!
Aberratic, Arteam-Interactive, Nocteon Game, Rablo Games, Funtomata, Orbit Owl and Yunicorn Studio were among the studios present, who were able to pick up a wealth of advice on their pitch deck.
